Cara Finnegan

Professor Finnegan completed her Ph.D. in Communication Studies at Northwestern in 1999, and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech Communication at UIUC. Her research currently focuses upon "visual rhetoric," specifically, on the ways in which photographs have been mobilized as inventional resources for public argument. Professor Finnegan's book Picturing Poverty: Print Culture and FSA Photographs (Smithsonian Books, 2003), includes a chapter on Survey Graphic. She can be reached at caraf@uiuc.edu
