Nice try! But...
Orson Welles produced the radio dramatization of H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds after he left the Federal Theatre Project. CBS aired the show on October 30, 1938.
The theatrical group that created the show was called the Mercury Theatre-on-the Air. Welles co-founded the Mercury Theatre with John Houseman, who had also been an FTP employee. Howard Koch, a former FTP playwright, wrote the radio script. Koch went on to write the screenplay for the movie Casablanca.
