It's hard to believe that we'll soon be welcoming them home and from here on it'll be hard to wait for our members in the Service--those who took a great part of the Photo League with them and with whom we have so many ties of comradeship. Meanwhile, they're still scattered over the globe. SGT. WALTER ROSENBLUM is now in Vienna doing movie work. Walter has received the Presidential Citation, the Bronze Star medal, the Purple Heart, and the Arrow Head Citation (a medal given the first men to land on D-Day. MORRIS ENGEL, now a non-com. Officer is a veteran of three years. CPL. SID GROSSMAN, Navy photographer, was in So. Am. the last we heard doing pictures for the Air Corps. CPL. MORRIS HUBERLAND saw action in No. Africa, Italy, France and Germany. SGT. THEODORE GUMBS gives no details but says he's been in hospitals in France and England and he's okay now. We can't wait to present PFC. SAM SOLOMON with the League to take care of as he used to, when he returns from the So. Pacific. BESS MASLOW wrote from the So. Pac. Where she's with Red Cross Recreation. Happy to be assigned to set up a darkroom in a convalescent hospital. Wherever League members go, photography rears its lovely head; but she's had difficulties. We know it's tough, Bess, with Willoughby's so far away. S/SGT. LOUIS CLYDE STOUMEN has been a photog. in the CBI theater. PFC. MAX ZOBEL is still in Europe. We haven't heard from SGT. SAM DININ who was working with a Frank Capra unit on the "Why We Fight" documentaries. PFC. KENNETH MILLER has been instructing at the Astoria Signal Corps Center and reports that ALBERT FENN is on the same staff. CPL. DAN WEINER was around town this summer and said hello. PFC. GEORGE GELBERG, always a man of action, lent us a hand with the mailing last time he was in N.Y. SGT. J.P. CONNOLLY sent the League a contribution "on general principles" since we don't take his dues. He's at Ft. Riley, Kansas. There are others too who'll be back. We home members are thankful with you that it is over and happier still to think you'll be back soon. We feel the Photo League will be a swell outfit when we all get together again.
