Eileen O'Farrell, a Teachers College graduate student and former DeWitt Clinton High School teacher, worked with students at DeWitt Clinton High School, who developed document-based essays after researching the school's copies of The Magpie from the 1930s. Eileen O'Farrell presents the project in greater detail in her essay, Reading A Previous Generation: Using Student Literary Magazines in the Classroom. The three student essays are included here, as well.
