The Authority's second dam to be completed, the Wheeler Dam in the Tennessee River 15 and a half miles above Muscle Shoals. Its navigation lock 360' long by 60' wide is in regular operation. in desigining the dam the engineers arched the roadway atop the dam over the lock so as to eliminate the necessity for a drawbridge.
