Boys Camp in Rural Virginia
Location : Chopawamsic, VA
Description : Cabins of a boys' camp built at the Chopawamsic, Virginia, land use project 30 miles south of Washington D.C. This area, consisting of run down farms, abandoned mines, and second growth woodland is one of several projects being turned over to the national Park Service by the Resettlement Administration for recreational development. This summer these cabins were used by a total of 700 underprivileged children from the District of Colombia whose vacations were financed in whole or in part by social welfare agencies.
