Mr. Jones, like practically all the workers at the Kingsport Press, is from a rural community. Although some of the workers now live in town, they all originally came from the country. In most cases they secured work at the Press upon completion of elementary or high school education. They were completely unlettered as regards this work and were taken on as apprentices, each in his own particular phase of the work, by the Kingsport Press, Inc. The ease and rapidity with which these people have assimilated the necessary knowledge and ability to perform these various highly technical operation is undeniable evidence of their high latent natural intelligence and ability.
