Description : Mexican Caretta and Buro Train on its way to pioneer Denver in 1860. It carries a load of unbolted flour and Toas Lightning, "a fiery whisky which the fur trapper said was warranted to kill at fifty rods. Note the Spanish method of trying the yolk to the horns of the oxen with rawhide thongs. The packs on the burros were also tied by an expert Forest Service Packer, and show the diamond and double diamond hitch.
