Description : Dinner-time (noon) at the Costello Nursery, a Child Care Center in Williamsport where the pre-school age children of war-working mothers pass the time while parents are on assembly lines. Many child nurseries such as this one, operated with the assistance of WPA, will be continued with Lanham Act funds allotted by the Federal Works agency in those war-connected communities where population increases have over-taxed the resources of the existing authorities. Some of them will be open around the clock, seven days a week, and will afford supervised care while parents are at work. There is a mid-morning snack of cod liver oil and orange juice for each child as well as breakfast for those who are brought to the Center in the daylight hours. There need be no latch-key kitchen custody care for the children of those mothers in war industry.
