Right Foot
Location : New York, NY
Description : Liberty's right foot with heel raised as having grabbed a torch. She steps forward to enlighten the world. Her manacles falling broken at her feet, Mr. Camp's 6 feet 1.5 inches fall far short of the 11 feet between the back edge pf the heel and the surface on which her foot rests. The sandal is fastened with a strap passing through a loop above the heel. When the statue was assembled in Paris for display to the public which had built it with their multitude of small contributions before being shipped to America, the copper plates of the sole were left on and the people used the opening as the entrance to the statue.
