[ New Search ] Skimmer Birds Location : Delta Refuge, LA Date : June, 1937 Agency : WPA Owner : NARA (SPB) Medium : B&W Photo Control Number : RG-67-76 Enlarged Image Description : Thousands of Sheer-Water called "Skimmer" by the natives. At certain seasons when the hen is nesting on the unhatched eggs the birds will destroy the eggs by trampling them and running their long bill through them if disturbed by strangers.
