Description : Mrs. Sutherlin holds a baby "skimmer" in her hand. The little bird has just emerged from the egg laying near the log buried in the hot sands of the little gulf island. The bird is a variety of the gull family with a beautiful jet black body and a white breast. The island was literally covered with hatching birds.
