[ New Search ] Blue Goose Observation Tower Location : Delta Refuge, LA Date : June, 1937 Agency : WPA Owner : NARA (SPB) Medium : B&W Photo Control Number : RG-67-76 Enlarged Image Description : The "Blue Goose" tower of the United States Biological Survey 12 miles below Venice, Louisiana, and about 18 miles from the mouth of the Mississippi River. The tower, 120 feet high, is being used for observation purposes by the survey which is protecting migratory water fowl in the Delta Refuge consisting of 48,000 acres.
