Mississippi Handicraft Dolls
Location : Washington, DC
Description : WPA Exhibit at the National Museum - These character dolls were made by WPA workers in Mississippi. They were featured at the current WPA exhibition of skills of the unemployed at the National Museum. Their heads are made of pecan shells. The Exhibition, initiated by WPA Assistant Administrator Ellen S. Woodward to show examples of some of the work performed on non-construction projects coming under her division, continues through Jan. 31st. Listed Under:
