Teamsters Union

Notes:     The first volume of Dobbs' account of the Teamsters in the 1930s in the upper Midwest. This volume deals with the 1934 strikes in and around Minneapolis, and the successful organization of an industrial union and social movement. Subsequent volumes, Teamster Power, Teamster Politics, and Teamster Bureaucracy, recount the buildup of union in the Midwest and its struggles with an increasingly restrictive officialdom. Dobbs continues to relate to workers' concerns and struggles.
