Employment Gain Depicted By CensusOCT. 25, 1937
Fort Wayne is definitely forging ahead in recovery through increases in industrial employment, a census just completed for the Community chest's annual appeal for funds, has revealed.
The census, which has been conducted in the past two weeks, shows that 14 of the larger concerns employing 100 or more persons, have increased their employment from 14,436 in 1936 to 17,087 at this time, a rise of 3,651 persons.
Marked improvements in business is also shown by the fact that 20 firms employing 10 or more people, have been added to the list of businesses in Fort Wayne since last year. This number of firms is made of chiefly from new industry, it was noted.
