Don Gage, President of the General Electric employees' association of Decatur, has received the official charter for the organization from August O. Mueller, secretary of state.
Application for the charter was made last July after a vote of the employees favored the local organization. The General Electric employees' association is not affiliated with any national labor organizations and is strictly local.
Organized under the provisions of the Wagner labor act, the union has been reorganized by the company as a bargaining agency for the employees. The Decatur association, has complete autonomy in matters pertaining to the employees of Decatur G.E. plant.
Other officers of the association, in addition to Mr. Gage, are: Solomon Bowather, vice-president; Erna Weiland, secretary; Frank Bohnke, treasurer; Milton Brown, corresponding secretary; Tillman Greig, Charles W. Brothers, Ralph J. Roop, directors.
