Manny VegaManny Vega, the project artist, worked with ECHS teacher Jacob Vargo and a group of ECHS art students in the development of the school's new mural. Manuel Vega, a Bronx native, is a visual artist, specializing in murals, illustrations, printmaking and theatrical and costume design. Mr. Vega has been Artist-in-Residence at the Guggenheim Museum, El Museo Del Bario, and Arts Connection, and has worked with school children in many different school-based art projects over the years. Some of Manny's recent projects include the resortation of a 4 story high wall mural on 104th St. and Lexington Ave., in NYC; hand painted timbales for Tito Puente, a mural for the Broadway production The Capeman; and a mosaic mural for the 110th St. and Lexington Ave. subway station.
