About the Milwaukee Public Museum

We first learned about the Milwaukee WPA Dolls through the Museum's web site. We contacted John Lundstrum, curator of Americana, who encouraged us to work with Betty O'Sullivan. We appreciate the Museum's encouragement and support.

Cover of Lore Magazine

The Milwaukee Public Museum possesses a fine representative selection of the various types of Milwaukee WPA dolls. The Museum also has an archive of about 900 photographs that were taken by WPA photographers to record the activities of the Milwaukee Handicraft Project.

This photo features some of the WPA dolls in the Museum's collection. It appeared on the Summer 1987 cover of LORE, the magazine for Museum members.
