FDR and the Supreme Court
(Editor: Written on Letterhead)
My mother, sister, brother and sister-in-law (and the writer) send you five supporting votes.
Harding, Coolidge and Hoover put them men on the bench-- all politicians-- not Saints or tin gods-- all with feet of clay.
Get your own men on the Supreme Court bench-- men who think of and for the common people of America-- not for the privileged few.
More power to you Mr. President and we're hoping you run a third time, because the "common" Americans will re-elect you again by a majority vote greater than the 1936 landslide.
Hoover and his gang have been discredited-Landon is not big enough to be mayor of St. Louis.
Keep up the good fight for the 27,000,000 (and new disciples) are with you 100%.
More power to Senators Minton and Byrnes-and Norris of Nebraska, a grand American. Here's a salute to Bob La Follette, also one of the best.
We put you back in office because we trust you-because you and Mrs. Roosevelt are truly the no. 1 American couple in this grand country of ours.
Americans are determined that barons, bankers, lawyers and professional politicians will not much longer enslave us. And we are determined to rid ourselves of such men as Boss Tom Pendergast of Kansas City and his counterparts throughout the country.
