FDR at a CCC Camp in Virginia,
August 12, 1933 (detail)
In 1986 Robert Gadamowitz interviewed his grandfather, Dominick Gadamowitz, for an oral history project developed by his social studies teacher, Alan Singer. Dominick Gadamowitz had served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1935. The CCC put young men to work in the nation's forests and state parks.

Robert Gadamowitz and Alan Singer have graciously allowed the New Deal Network to present this oral history in an expanded form. We are using images from our Library to illustrate Dominick Gadamowitz's story.
